An introduction to electropragmatics

Electropragmatics is the study of how meaning is co-constructed in the interaction of subatomic particles. This word came to me in a dream, on the cover of a dry-looking university textbook. It is probably inspired by Asimov’s “psychohistory”. It is an extension of (quantum) electrodynamics, incorporating recent insights from linguistics and ethnomethodology. This online textbook seeks to provide an overview of this emerging discipline, in a manner that is accessible to both physicists and social scientists.

Obviously, we must have some math, in particular the famous example of Ramanujan summation: \[\sum_{n=1}^\infty n = -\frac{1}{12} .\]

Just kidding—it’s actually a figment of my imagination. The real purpose of this website is to show off the Coelacanth font, and maybe say a little bit about who I am and what I’m interested in. Here, for example, is story #33 from Grimm’s Fairy Tales, namely “The three languages”.
